An Introduction to Mindfulness for Well Being– 6 weeks - €90 Tuesday 7.30pm-9.30pm (Paola Vais)
An experimental course during which we'll learn how mindfulness practices can enhance our general well-being. The course blends guided mindfulness practices and short presentations and enactments that clarify what mindfulness is and how we can bring it into everyday life.
Computers for Beginners - 8 weeks - €100 Tuesdays 7.30 - 9.30 pm ( Kevin O’Connor)
Easily learn computer basics in a relaxed and friendly environment:
• Word Processing: learn how to create letters, posters, cards, etc.
• Internet Basics: learn about the World Wide Web.
• E-mail Basics: covers all the important skills you need, including attaching files and photos.
Get confident in the use of your own device
Bike Repair Maintenance - 8 weeks - €140 Tuesday 7.30 - 9.30 pm (Ulick O Beirne)
Bicycle Repair and Maintenance teaches you how to keep your bicycle in perfect working order, covering cleaning your bicycle, puncture repair, brake alignment and maintenance, gear indexing, cable replacement, and drivechain maintenance
French for beginners - 8 weeks - €100 Tuesday 7.30 - 9.30 pm (Zahra Deschard)
Suitable for beginners, this course will give you the basics in the French language and culture.
Taught by a native speaker, it places special emphasis on developing elementary conversational French, pronunciation, reading and writing skills.
Ashtanga Yoga - 8 weeks - €75 Tuesday 7.30 – 8.45 pm (Lena O Driscoll)
The Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series is known as 'Yoga Chikitsa' meaning 'Yoga Therapy'. The heart of this ancient practice is an inner journey, one of reflection, spiritual awakening, and ultimately a calm, clear mind. This powerful style of yoga enables students to follow a set sequence of postures each time, gradually progressing through the series. The practice emphasises the synchronizing of breath with movements; energy locks; and integrating meditative techniques. Ashtanga Yoga will help you confront your emoional, physical and mental limitations and inspire real change in your life.
The benefits of Ashtanga Yoga include: strong and flexible body; clear mind; improved circulation and detoxified system. I aim to pass on the traditional teachings of the practice as best I can so that I can help my students understand the practice and apply it in all areas of life not only on the mat.
In the end, we are all different but, all looking for the same thing... to be happy and at peace...
